Ahhhhh! I can’t even say how much I loved this shoot. Took all of 20 minutes (yes, seriously 20 min) and the sweet thing was just a dream to shoot. Smiles and ooooo’s and ahhhh’s. Just delicious…

So, this was an adorable shoot! It was Brianna’s 5th birthday and the theme was Pinky Pie, My Little Pony! Loved her dress with the rainbow ‘tail’ cascading down the back!!! Brianna was a cutie pie herself and my daughter’s (Abby and Jocelyne) who assisted on the shoot thought she was just too cute. Of course, when my daughters were that age they would have traded their baby sister for a dress like that. And then to have a photoshoot with hair and makeup…I think they would have traded me at that point! Ahhhh…the girly girlness of it all is just so fun!!! LOVE-ing the shoots that are coming my way lately…
Um, never experienced a shoot like this before! When Kristal emailed me saying she wanted to book a shoot for the twins and her nephew I was excited. I sent her some ideas to gauge what type of a setting she was wanting and was so pleasantly surprised when she texted me a photo of a little boy in PJ’s with a super hero cape and said ‘can we do this?’ Heck yes! Love that she wanted something out of the box. And then it got even better when Grandma and Grandpa got into the act and decided to bust out the Captain America regalia. One of my favorite parts was the fact that the kids all had their initials monogrammed on their capes…which just happened to spell BAM! when posed together! Super cute!!! Hope you all enjoy looking at these ’cause I sure had a TON of fun taking them…
Spring Mini Sessions this year were a great success…it seems as though I had lots of adorable little boys come through this time! I loved being able to use my new studio space. And I am anxious to blog about it!!! Just figuring out a few more kinks and then I should be able to show it all off…WooHoo!
So, each of these little guys (plus Bella and Zoe) were so much fun. Gavin played it cool yet gave me some seriously cute smiles, Silas was serious but sweet, Zoe and the boys were all laughs, Owen was giggly and I had a full on conversation to keep him engaged, Christian’s parents had to pretended to fall down to make him smile, Bella was just all giggles and easily entertained, and Lucas would not hold still and finally started smiling when we made our way outside…all that little man wanted to do was run, run, run!
I happen to have a slight obsession for this child. Why? Who knows. Maybe its because she looks just like my Abby from the moment she was born. Maybe its because I was so happy and excited for her parents when she finally arrived. I’m not sure, but from the moment I saw her it seemed as if her sweet spirit spoke to mine and I felt a connection to her. One of my favorite memories of her is when she was just a few months old we got to have her spend the night since her entire family had some nasty flu bug. I picked up and took her home and was amazed at how GOOD of a baby she was! I could actually just sit there and watch her sleep. And I could enjoy her like I never enjoyed my own kids because I knew I was going to have to give her back! And then when her mommy was out of commission for a few weeks last fall she got to spend a few days hanging out with my friends and I…coming with me to photography consults and lunch meetings. She was such a good baby.
And then she started walking and it seemed like she realized she could rule the world. She went from sweet to sassy but I just loved her more for it! In a house with two big brothers a girl has to stick up for herself! So when I wanted to do a concept shoot in my new studio (more on that to come!!!) she was the perfect little one for me to photograph. I spent an hour or so just watching her play around and run circles in her pretty dress (which is actually my Jocelyne’s blessing dress), until she burst into tears and let me know she wasn’t going ‘sit in her pretty chair and smile’ anymore. Ugh…I could just pick her up and squish her all day long!! I was so sad to have her family move out of my church bounderies since now I don’t get to see her very week. My Sunday’s have become a bit dimmer…sigh.
But I LOVE that I was able to capture all parts of her personality in this shoot. Many of the props were used from Rosie’s tea house Just Between Friends (part of Vintage on Main) located at 1409 N. Main in McAllen. The best part is that my studio is located right above Rosie’s so I get to go to work in a wonderfully beautiful environment! If you have never been to Rosie’s, you HAVE to come in and see her store. I had my daughter’s 12th birthday there a couple of years ago and it is still one of the highlights of my girls lives. Anyway…here is to Taylor’s sweet spirit and my total adoration for her…baby, you are the best!
