What a fun shoot this was!!!  Part of the fun of being a photographer is deciding when I want to use my knowledge and come up with fun ideas for my daughters!  My freshman daughter Josh made the JV Dark volleyball team this year at McHi (woot woot!) and she and I were talking about something that we could do that was fun for the entire team.  Well, we all know that I don’t cook…and I’m not super crafty…so, that meant PHOTOSHOOT!  It was thrown together in two days and we put our makeup/getting ready/salon/closet and beauty room to good use with 12 girls all getting hair and makeup and wardrobe done at the same time.  A big thanks to Eva Wilson (Jaycee’s mom) for coming and doing makeup and to Stacy Solis (Sarah’s mom) who came and took behind the scene shots!  And a SUPER big thanks to Ginna Villareal (you can find her site HERE) who helped with they styling and provided some awesome tatts and jewelry (a second blog post to follow on those!)

These girls have worked incredibly hard this season.  Josh has come home with stories about running stadiums, running the mile, scrimmaging against varsity and coming home exhausted.  I have seen these girls practice, practice and practice, and then go to a game and totally kill it.  I have loved cheering them on and watching them progress as a team.  They are all extremely talented and dedicated and although I may just be Josh’s mom, I know each of them by name and am concerned for their welfare and success.  Great season girls…go McHi!

OMG these two were too adorable.  Alyssa came prepared with TONS of different ideas…half of them I didn’t even get to post.  Flowers, hats, signs, bubbles, glitter, glasses, dresses…so much stuff!!!  I loved it!  Alyssa’s dad owns a tire shop and so naturally we had to take some pictures there…those tires are freaking HUGE!  And then I loved the hat and shawl and dress she wore in the field next to the shop.  So beautiful.

How do I describe these girls? Of course I love my daughter Abby…she’s almost 16 and is someone I can always count on, is so helpful around the house, is kind and thoughtful and I cherish her more than she probably knows.  And I couldn’t have asked for better friends for my kids than Lexi and Tessa. They are smart, sassy, loving, fun and I love them with my whole heart like my own.  For Lexi’s 15th birthday, she wanted a photoshoot with her two closest friends so Kimberly and Tessa hit the mall scouting out wardrobe.  We then met up at my house and let me tell you that there were so many clothes and accessories everywhere.  Once we got everything situated we hit the road and found such a cute field with all those cottony flowers that I love.  Ugh, it was so freaking hot though!!!  We were all dripping with sweat…so gross.  And I was stressed because even though what Lexi wanted was a photoshoot, it was actually a cover for her surprise party!  So as soon as we were done we headed on over to Pam’s and when Lexi walked in all of her closest friends were there to celebrate with her…so fun.  I just LOVE these girls…

I Love Chelsea. I frequently call her my adopted daughter.  We share the same birthday.  She has been friends with my girls for the past 11 years.  She loves playing basketball and all things sparkly. She paints her nails every Sunday.  She loves getting dressed up in my old vintage dresses with my girls…actually even my friends like playing dress up in my old vintage dresses.  Chelsea is one special kid.  I love her like my own daughters.  I worry about her, pray for her, and can’t wait to see what she will pick out for her wedding dress.  She is kind and helpful and always brings a smile to my face…and for her birthday all she wanted was a photo shoot in a beautiful dress.  And Ginna was wonderful enough to do her flawless makeup!  (Be sure and check out Ginna’s blog…she always has wonderful stuff!)  So happy very belated birthday Chels!  I know its late but these were too good not to share…
