What a fun shoot this was!!! Part of the fun of being a photographer is deciding when I want to use my knowledge and come up with fun ideas for my daughters! My freshman daughter Josh made the JV Dark volleyball team this year at McHi (woot woot!) and she and I were talking about something that we could do that was fun for the entire team. Well, we all know that I don’t cook…and I’m not super crafty…so, that meant PHOTOSHOOT! It was thrown together in two days and we put our makeup/getting ready/salon/closet and beauty room to good use with 12 girls all getting hair and makeup and wardrobe done at the same time. A big thanks to Eva Wilson (Jaycee’s mom) for coming and doing makeup and to Stacy Solis (Sarah’s mom) who came and took behind the scene shots! And a SUPER big thanks to Ginna Villareal (you can find her site HERE) who helped with they styling and provided some awesome tatts and jewelry (a second blog post to follow on those!)
These girls have worked incredibly hard this season. Josh has come home with stories about running stadiums, running the mile, scrimmaging against varsity and coming home exhausted. I have seen these girls practice, practice and practice, and then go to a game and totally kill it. I have loved cheering them on and watching them progress as a team. They are all extremely talented and dedicated and although I may just be Josh’s mom, I know each of them by name and am concerned for their welfare and success. Great season girls…go McHi!
