Farha found out about me from a mini session that I had done a few months ago and stated she wanted to do the same thing for Maya when she turned one.  And so we were on Pinterest, back-and-forth, back-and-forth trying to come up with different ideas, and I love what we came up with.  Maya is so adorable with those big brown eyes…oh my gosh, I could just eat her up she’s so cute and she was not grumpy at all!  That child fell over I don’t even know how many times during the shoot…walk, fall, walk, fall, and then get up with a big huge smile on her face…nothing seemed to faze her. And then in the studio when we did the smash the cake… it’s so hilarious to see the kids do the smash the cake.  We always think that the kids are going to totally go for the cake and just eat and smash it up, but half the time the kids are looking at the cake going ‘what am I supposed to do with this thing?’ as if they’re going to get in trouble if they touch it.  it’s hilarious… every single kid is so different, I love watching the reactions.

I was tickled pink when my Marissa asked me to shoot a baptismal session for a little Olivia because I think those are the cutest things in the world… for each of my girls in our religion, we bless them when their infants and so I too have a blessing dress for each one of my daughters…and we took pictures of each one of them in them which I  love and treasure… I’m so glad that I took the time to do it.  They are  super fun we can usually get them done pretty quick.  Olivia is the most adorable, happy, laughable, cutest baby with those gorgeous, big brown eyes.  I mean I could not get over how adorable she was.  I was just smiling and smiling over this one particular one below…I thought it was totally cute!

This family holds a pretty special place in my heart!  I love all things cultural so when Laju suggested doing an Indian themed shoot, I was totally up for it.  The hardest part was keeping it under wraps until Diwali had come!  Samina and Anayah are so big that every time I see them I literally feel myself getting older.  At least Samina smiles for me now though…that child would not smile for a whole year straight whenever I took her pictures!  But I guess if you bring Nani along, they will smile for anything.  I loved their dresses…the detail work is just beautiful.  And watching them interact with their grandparents is always endearing…I have never known a father and grandfather that shows love like Jacky Mahbubani.  I love taking pictures of him with his family because the love he feels freely shines through and it warms my heart.  Sigh…these pictures make me happy.

So, when I met Melissa back in the summer and found out she was cousins by marriage to Krystle, I was super excited because that’s a totally rad family! I loved it when she told me that her hubby Steve was a pilot, and so we talk about all different kinds of things that we wanted for the session.  One of them was an aviator theme and so she bought the most adorable outfit on Etsy… and he had some vintage planes for his bedroom and putting them together was so easy and adorable.  And of course,Steve loves the Cowboys!  So it was totally and completely appropriate that we would have to do you attribute to the Dallas Cowboys. For those of you who know me, you know that I do not follow football at all I don’t even really know who the football teams are… which is so sad living here in Texas… so I really don’t have any affiliation one way or another.  But we get all types in the studio’s from the NFL to college ball everybody has their favorite team… so it’s always fun to see who loves what!  But anyway, baby Esteban was so adorable those chunky cheeks… I just love it!

So, Jessica called me to shoot a breast-feeding session, which I thought was totally awesome and although I’m not posting any of those pictures here, we did also take some mother and daughter’s pictures as well and I thought they were too cute and really wanted to show them off.  Of course Kaitlyn is just too adorable… I just love to be able to watch Jessica and Kaitlyn interact and have a great time.  Kaitlyn did not like me during our consult…she would not come to me she did not want to have anything to do with me.  But at her session, that child loved me!!   I wanted to take her home and make her a part of my family because she was snuggling up to me and she was loving on me and she was hugging me and kissing… oh my gosh, I ate it all up!  I love it when babies love me back and she just let me hold her almost the entire time.  I loved it!!   I was by my favorite part of the entire session.  And she was just the most hilarious thing ever to watch she has those biggest cheeks and these big bright eyes and those teeth are just too adorable I can’t even stand it!  I mean, I remember Jessica and Edelir from when they got married…to me, they are always the fire couple because our house fire happened the day that we shot their engagement session!!  I mean it was five years ago, so it’s fun to see the brides and grooms come back and see their families grow and meet their kids.  It’s got to be one of the most rewarding and most fulfilling parts of my job to see them from the very beginning of their families up until the present…love it!jessica01jessica002jessica02jessica08jessica03jessica04jessica06
