This was one of the RADDEST maternity shoots…EVAH!  My hubby covered Marysol and Ernesto’s wedding a couple years back and I was so pleased when Marysol rang me up and asked me to cover her belly, birth and newborn shoots…these two were pretty free flowing and laid back about everything so it gave me the freedom to really have fun with the shoot.  One of my favorite things was a tiny ring that she wore labeled ‘taken’…I don’t know why I loved it so much but just looking at it made me happy!  I loved how messy but how perfect her hair looked and I totally LOVED that white flowy dress she wore.  Just bucket loads of fun for me and one of those shoots that reminds me I really do love my job…

Kelsea is one of the sweetest girls I know.  She has been a babysitter of ours for years, I have taught her in church class and have gone with her to church camp, I have seen her grow up from a sweet 12 year old to a beautiful 18 year old who is ready to venture out into the big, wide world.  I have loved watching her and had so much fun photographing her senior session.  We got to tromp around trails, get bitten by ants, get eaten by mosquitoes, become drenched in sweat…but who said making beautiful pictures was easy right?  And I LOVED that she was willing and up for anything…even getting into swampy water!!

Isn’t my Dad’s mustache freakin’ awesome?!  I LOVE my dad.  He is the HARDEST working man I know.  He taught me the values of being dependable, of serving, of being kind to others, of helping those in need, of putting others first.  Things I remember about him:

He used to spin us on the rust colored floral swivel chair that matched our couches.  We thought we were spinning into space.

He used to play ‘steamroller’ with us kids…we all lay on the floor in a row and Dad ‘rolled’ over us to flatten us out.  Yeah…we loved it!

I remember him always saying Super Mergatroyd.  I don’t know why.  The funny part was he twisted the front two pieces of his hair to look like antenna while he said it.

Whenever I hear the song ‘Hang On Sloopy’, I picture my Dad singing it.

I bought Twinkies yesterday.  They always remind me of my Dad.

I remember a trip my Dad and I took by ourselves.  I have no idea where we went, I just remember that I got to skip school to go with him.  I was supposed to make sure that he stayed awake while he drove.

When I was 7 or 8 years old my Dad took me to BYU to visit King Tut who was on display.  He bought me a folder that had a raised BYU logo.  I took that folder to school and was immediately cool.

My Dad was always a great example to me in his Church service.  He took his responsibilities seriously.

My dad always gave us a Father’s Blessing before the beginning of the school year.

When I was first married, my Dad (and Mom!) made a lot of financial sacrifices for our struggling family.  I think of the overtime he must have worked so that they could help us out.

I am so grateful for him.  I can’t think of a man I would rather have as an example of the kind of father and husband you should be.  I LOVE you Dad!

Seriously.  I mean, seriously.  How can you go wrong with that gorgeous hair and awesome freckles?  Add in a fabulous dress, some bling and a profile to die for and you get amazing!  Bridal shoots are always fun and one of my favorites to shoot.  For Catherine’s shoot she was wanting a rustic barn/field type place and then urban theme.  I drove all around to try and find something that would appeal to her and found a fun little field with a white frame building that kind of would pass for a barn…maybe?  Anyway, I hadn’t ever shot there before and didn’t know there was going to a million ‘spinas’ all over the place.  Chanclas are my favorite choice for footwear and I guess I didn’t put two and two together, so I walked in the field and I swear, every spina in that field jumped onto my sandals!  Thankfully Catherine and her mom are my same shoe size and she had brought along some boots, so we all played musical shoes until we could walk through the field unharmed!  It seems that every bridal session has some sort of craziness to it…Love it!

And definitely one of my favorite parts of Catherine’s shoot was her broach bouquet.  That thing is ALL kinds of fabulousness!  I want one just so I can sit and look at it.

Oh goodness, this little cutie pie was just a dream.  She is the wedding dress baby I featured a couple weeks ago…isn’t she just too cute for words?  I can’t say how much I love photographing newborns.  I have had SO MANY sessions over the past couple of months newborn hold such a special place in my heart.  And I have at least eight more on the way in the next 2 months.  YAY!!!

Anyway, enjoy these precious images of baby Kennedy…and get ready for more senior, belly, engagement, bridal and wedding sessions to come!!!
